Bio

Brian Shea is a Wall Street Journal, Amazon Bestselling, and ITW Award finalist author. With over thirty thrillers to his name, you may think it would be time to slow down. On the contrary. His passion for storytelling continues to grow. The use of a pseudonym enables him to explore the stories piled up inside his brain.

His international experiences began early in life when, at the young age of eleven, his father uprooted the family and moved to Saudi Arabia. The two years spent overseas came with a myriad of adventures as he traveled across Europe, Africa, and Asia. Some highlights from that time included a Christmas spent in a tribal village Mombasa, Kenya where an Irish priest delivered the entire mass in Swahili. A competitive swimmer in his youth, Brian travelled to Cairo, Egypt for an international meet. The competition paled in comparison to the awe of standing before the great pyramids and riding horseback across the sand swept desert. The cultural experience and the amazing people he encountered along the way greatly influenced, finding their way into the characters he creates and the worlds they inhabit.

Upon graduating from Northeastern University in Boston, Brian served his country as a naval officer for the next four years. During his time in service, he was stationed in Coronado, Pensacola, and Norfolk. His last duty assignment came with a deployment to the Middle East where he worked within the carrier group’s operations department, exposing him to the complexities of modern warfare.

After his time in the Navy, Brian obtained his master’s degree from Marymount University in Virginia before setting out for Texas. His devotion to service didn’t stop with the military. He became a police officer, working in that capacity in both Texas and Connecticut as a SWAT operator, Narcotics investigator, and Detective. Those experiences hunting real-world monsters permeate his stories. Brian hung up his guns a few years back, retiring as a detective, to pursue his writing career.

When he’s not scribbling down an idea into one of his journals or hammering away on his keyboard, Brian spends his time with his wife and three daughters. Although he’s lived in over fourteen different states, he calls New England his home. And regardless of the weather, he and his wife make time every evening to step out on their back patio for a game or two of chess, even though he ends up losing 99% of the time.

Brian hopes you’ll join him on his next adventure.

“Strength of character is only measured when tested.”
